Part 1 of 16. A series of video blogs about the construction of HG Wells The Time Machine based on George Pal’s 1960 film.
This 1080p HD footage of a Maxim Machine gun shows off the awesome fire power available in the late 1800′s / early 1900′s. The Maxim gun was the first self-powered machine gun, invented by the American-born British inventor Sir Hiram Maxim in 1884. Gun will be on display at the Old Cowtown Museum in Wichita KS on November 5th, 2011 during the Tesla & Lovecraft Steampunk Exposition. HD footage was filmed by Ted Thomason © 2011 – Ted Thomason
I think this is just GREAT
)
its 7.62X54r blanks… the groves in the casing indicate blanks… it would be much more louder… also, its a semi auto bolt… I assume, its built around a Soviet DP-27 (A copy of a Lewis gun).
Any details on the gun used? It’s clearly an AK of some sorts, living inside a Maxim shell, which is pretty cool!
it does indeed . .looks like a yugo 72 kalashnikov variant by the bolt carrier.
There’s an AK hiding inside there.
Perfect for air defense. A hail of those massive slugs would surely shred the liftwood in invading Imperial airships. Most likely would give a steam or diesel walker’s abulanout something very unpleasant to think about as well. Yes. Indeed.
very cool !!!!
