Steampunk Nerf Gun

Steampunk’s all the rage right? Well this week I take an ordinary maverick rev-6 nerf gun, and give it a bit of flavour by steam punking it up. It took a couple of days to spray paint it all, but I think the finished gun turned out pretty darn good. Next week I plan to make a lightsaber. Not a real one of course, which is too bad. I’ve always wanted a real light saber. Shawns Channel: www.youtube.com That’s PS! is a weekly show where Shawn and I try to make our lives a bit more interesting one week at a time. 2. I am going to have a go at steampunking some guns so…wish me luck! :)

  3. Definitely. Unfortunately I was making weekly videos when this was made, and I didn’t have the time, or expertise to make that happen.

For my very first attempt at anything like this, I was pretty pleased with the way it turned out.

  4. If you do decide to do it, I’d recommend you look up some tutorials on your particular model before you start taking anything apart.

That way you’ll know what you’re getting into before you accidentally your whole nerf gun.

  5. i want to turn my nerf gun steampunk now… but it’s kinda… electronic. And automatic. Soooo might not work.

  6. it needs wires and copper pipes

  7. Hadn’t planned on it. It currently sits on my toy shelf, just out of video view.

Besides, you never know when you’ll need an emergency nerf gun :)

  8. After Halloween are you going to sell the gun?

I am currently busy with my NervMaverick and they’ll make plenty of power. I will also build a laser pointer and miss her a very real look.

Determined, a video will make it so.

  17. Wheezy Waiter refference FTW. Good video as well, I want to do something similar.

  18. Most definitely. I haven’t used it a lot, but it still fires perfectly well, and the stink from the spray paint is finally gone.

  19. Oh, okay, cool. So has the piece held up since the video was shot?

  20. Nope. I used a spray paint that was designed to stick to plastic though.
